Sponsors of Famous Formula D Drivers

It is true. Formula Drifting is here to stay. Fans are attending drifting racing events. They are also buying Formula D merchandise. The drivers have awesome skills and fan appeal. The sponsors are happy with their media and fan exposure. It is no surprise then that sponsors like big tire manufacturers, apparel companies and many more are offering the drifting drivers sponsorship deals.

Ken Gushi, a successful driver from Japan, is nicknamed  “The Future.”  He got it when he was young and winging many drifting contests. Some of his sponsors are Gishi Auto, Jline Wheels, Ford Racing and Toyo Tires.
 
Samuel Hubinette can claim more recognition as a better driver than Gushi since he has been a drifting series champion once. His numerous sponsorships confirm his outstanding race performances and fame. He is sponsored by BF Goodrich, Mopar, Toxic Drift and Nu Formz Racing.

Tanner Foust, another well-known Formula D driver, has several sponsors.  He has Toyo Tires as his tire sponsors. Unbound Energy Drink, Memphis Car Audio, AEM, and Motegi Racing Wheels are additional sponsors of this driver.

Rhys Millen is considered one of the drifting elite drivers.  As with Hubinette, he has a large number of sponsors.  Rhys Millen is very proud to be sponsored by Red Bull, the popular energy drink. In fact, Red Bull is one of the most popular and well known sponsors of a Formula D driver.  Pontiac, Rotora, Bridgestone Tire and RMR Products are his other sponsors as well.

Tony Angelo has Mazda as his car sponsor. Taka Aono has Toyota. Casper Canul is with Cooper Tires. James Evans has Bubba Drift. Rob Fleming has Cooper Tires and Enjuku Racing and Nissan. Chris Forsberg is with Sears. Vaughn Gittin Jr. has Ford Mustang. Ryan Hampton has Chevrolet. Nick Hogan has Mopar and Dodge. Stephan Papadakis has Honda. Dan Pena has Drift Patrol and Ford Mustang. Ross Petty has Nissan. Derrick Rogers has Bubba drift and Chevrolet. Ben Schwartz has Sears and Saturn Sky. Calvin Wan has Falken Racing and Toyota Infiniti. Seigo Yamamoto has Toyota Chaser, Garage-S, OS-Giken and Falken Racing.

What do you observe with the association of drivers and sponsors? The niche market that is being targeted by these car manufacturers, tire companies, racing specialist companies and others is the ordinary car owner. Moreover, they are focusing on the fans of Formula D who have the dedication and pride to wear, purchase their items. Majority of these fans are car lovers. Hence, the backers seem to have some association to cars or auto parts.  Food and Beverage companies also sponsor these drivers.
