The Concept of Formula D Racing

Do you love sports in general? Are you a motoring fan? Odds are good that you may have heard of Formula D Racing before, let alone describe it. It is not as popular as other motor racing sports; nevertheless, it is an exciting, enthralling and action-packed sport. Basically, a driver’s car drifting skills determines his chances of winning these kinds of races.

The SCCA Pro Racing body sanctions the only Formula Drift Championship series in the United States. This would translate to a reliable, safe and authentic motor racing sport because the drivers, engineers and sponsors have to abide to a unique set of rules that can only be advantageous for this sport. It has been proven that the members observe the rules. Moreover, the sports fan is treated to a spectacle of cars with the latest equipment, gears, painting work and gadgets for accessories. Not one driving team has a clear advantage that the other teams. With this formula, the fans are treated to tight races. This makes the fans appreciate the sport even more.

The race is actually composed of two different race stages. The traditional qualifying run is the first race. In qualifying, drivers will complete courses on their own. They will be running on the track and be judged on the speed with which they finish it. The second part of the Formula D Racingrace is the “Tandem battles”. This involves two drivers racing and drifting while being adjudged points at the same time. This scoring often involves the close examination, by professional judges.  More points are given and taken into consideration during "tandem battles"; this involves the passing and collisions of cars.  The drifting line taken, on top of the car’s speed, is taken into consideration. 

This kind of racing is very popular in Japan. Motoring enthusiast in the United States has just recently adopted the sports. Why? The sport is reputed to be a battle among elite drivers who along with their high performing and expensive cars, negotiate awesome race tracks with nerve wracking twists and turns. Formula Drifting is here to stay and it is growing rapidly.
